We are proud to support organisations that make a real difference to people’s lives. The Jacob’s Well Appeal approached us in late 2017 and asked if we could help with providing supplies of insect repellent to support two communities in West Africa. We were truly inspired by their story and happy to help.
Like us, Jacob's Well are based in the north of England, right here in Yorkshire. Since 1982, the charity has been sending medical and humanitarian aid to those in need overseas.
With volunteers in over 30 countries; from Afghanistan, Romania and Ghana to Burkina Faso, Pakistan, the Philippines and Kenya, the organisation sources everything from medical aid to educational, tools and building supplies and provides them to those in need.
The charity also partners with schools in Burkina Faso and Hospitals in Ghana, West Africa, both of which are renowned malaria hotspots. The call to us came about after volunteer Bridget Conroy visited the ABC School in Bobo Dioulassou, Burkina Faso. At the school clinic founded by Jacob’s Well, she saw multiple cases of patients – adults and children alike – suffering recurring bouts of malaria.
